"Two very great, completely different gigs. Joy Division were taking every gig in stride by this point. 8 songs off of "Unknown Pleasures", the four future tracks recorded for the 2nd Peel Session, and the tribal "Dead Souls", "These Days", and "Atrocity Exhibition". Apparently, the sound mixing for the two gigs was absolutely crisp, but sadly it's not well reflected on tape." -Wallflower
"Apparently Joy Division were in high spirits and marked the end of the tour by dumping fishing maggots on the sound and lighting desks, spraying the crew with shaving foam, putting live mice through the windows of the tour vans, and bombarding the crew with eggs before finally being chased off by a passing police car." -JoyDiv Central
...
The second night was the last night on tour with the Buzzcocks. Ian Curtis requested the PA guy to play the song "On the Way" from the film Nosferatu's original soundtrack, to pay tribute. You can hear it at the beginning of the tape.
"Day of the Lords" was mixed from two different sources, so it's lesser quality than the other songs.

Hi Fage,
ReplyDeleteFirst thank you for all these uploads, really appreciate it. It seems track 6 LWTUA from the first night is down. Would you mind reuploading it, please?
Thanks again,
Julien.
Hi Julien,
DeleteYou're welcome! Thanks for message, just reuploaded this.
Cheers,
Fage.
Thank you very much. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Fage
ReplyDeleteI want to congratulate you for your amazing job bringing these gigs to their maximum potential sound wise.
I'm trying to download the 1st track of the first night without luck. The same is happening to me with the tracks #4 and #10 of the second night. Could you please upload them again?
Again, thanks for your great work!!!
Hi,

Cheers,
Fage.
Thank you so much Fage!!! Now I can listen to the complete sets.
DeleteOn an another note, when I checked the fingerprints of the track #6 of the first night, I encountered differences between the hash included in the.txt file you uploaded and the actual hash of the track I download. In the .txt file the hash is "b9606a71f92d30a02b9b3d9adc7ede5a", while the hash of the track is "d564c3cce575870af5cd7ea346bb3e00".
I downloaded the file several times just to be sure, but everytime it returned the same hash. This doesn't happened with the other tracks, they checked ok.
I didn't detect anything wrong with the sound of the track, but I'm reporting this just in case.
Thank you again for your great work.
